Supervisor Mirkarimi's ordinance requiring Rec and Park to partner with the SFPUC to use recycled water for irrigation purposes took a major step forward this month and will ultimately result in the approximately 2 million gallons of water used to irrigate the City's parks monthly being drawn from recycled sources. And yes, its perfectly safe!
Ross has introduced legislation to legitimize secondary units. Building on the success of the Market-Octavia area plan, Supervisor Mirkarimi introduced a measure that will set up a pilot program to bring secondary units into compliance with current code thereby moving secondary units "out of the closet" and affording tenants full protections of the building, and fire codes.
Ross is working to amend the San Francisco Solar Program to make the program a permanent program of the City and County of San Francisco. Building on the great success of this program the Budget Committee will take up this issue on March 11 at their regular meeting. Also on the agenda is an additional $1 million for the Program.
